Last week after lunch with an ol' friend, I stopped at Almondine Bakery in Dumbo. Yeah, the macarons were okay, I suppose, but what I really loved was the bag. Ah, the little things. It reminded me of the late 70's illustration in my childhood books.

Rag Rug Pillows
Today I was taking inventory of all the things I've made; stuff that I haven't taken pictures of, things that need to be sold, materials yet to be used. It's been a crazy day.
I have these 26" square pillows on the bed that don't have pillow cases yet. I picked up a couple of the rag rugs that haven't sold yet and threw them over the pillows and holy crap they look awesome! Maybe a new line of pillow cases??

Art deco detail inspiration
Yesterday I was walking up 7th Avenue to a shop in the fashion district. Most of the buildings in that area are not exactly in the best of shape and can be *yawn* a bit boring to the eye. Lately, I have been obsessing over anything art deco inspired, so my eye has been trained to pick out anything remotely like it.
Lo and behold! Above the revolving door of this plain building was a super cool detail.
Thankfully I had my trusty boyfriend #2 to get the far away shot.
